History
The name LEMA was rooted in entrepreneurship when two Incan brothers from Lima, Peru left to explore a new life and opportunities in the Northern part of South America and settled in a community called Otavalo, north of Quito, Ecuador. There, the brothers settled and established a weaving community and the LEMA heritage. Today, Otavalo Indians are some of the most avid entrepreneurs in the world. Traveling the world, selling their products, playing their Andean music and exploring new ventures!
Raul Lema started young, traveling with the family business, working retail and wholesale, products from Ecuador all over the USA. Excelling in school and athletics, Raul obtained a scholarship to The Colorado School of Mines (CSM). Raul excelled as a competitor in sport and in the classroom receiving his Mechanical Engineering degree.
Recruited from CSM to work for Hughes Christensen, Raul began his own venture in Oil & Gas working in manufacturing, engineering and management. This experience proved to give Raul an edge when he moved to ConocoPhillips where he was rooted in drilling technology and performance improvement. Raul expanded his technical knowledge, experience, and leadership in petroleum engineering, operations and big data while working at ConocoPhillips. This took him all over the world and gave him insight to all aspects of a Fortune 500 business.
As a natural competitor, entrepreneur and innovator of Generation X, he is passionate about working with people and their businesses to make step changes and be their change agent to help improve individual, team and business performance.
Lema Ventures opened its doors in 2016. Since then, the work has focused on facilitation of Oil & Gas industry improvements. Raul brings an exceptional level of enthusiasm, dedication and perspective to make competitive solutions for innovative clients.

Raul E. Lema
Raul began his career in 1998 with Baker Hughes - Hughes Christensen in The Woodlands, Texas. He held various engineering and leadership roles in manufacturing, product design & development, project management and drilling research teams. In 2007, Raul joined ConocoPhillips as a subject matter expert on drilling mechanics in the Global Wells Technology group supporting global D&C operations with technology adoption and optimization. Raul worked high profile company drilling projects which included QatarGas 3&4 in Doha, Qatar, Deepwater operations in the North Atlantic, Extended Reach Applications in Alaska, Unconventional Applications in North Dakota along with other technical projects that have taken him all over the world. Before leaving ConocoPhillips Raul led the Wells Integrated Performance group where he partnered with IT, Business Units and Executives on improving business intelligent with business assessment and improvement projects that improved business decisions through automation, analytics, and engineering applications. Raul has hands-on experience with manufacturing, technology, operations, and overall business performance acumen. Staying ahead of Oil & Gas and business improvement challenges are Raul’s sixth sense.
